I lived in Louisiana for 1 year and I hated it! I don't know much about the other states but places in Louisiana are still in the dark ages. If you do go make sure to stay in th larger populated cities and not out in the boonies.

Well i live in Mississippi, we have the most obese people in the US in MS, we have one of the poorest, if not the poorest state in the US, and one of the highest drop out ratings for students. But as far is just living here? It's not a bad state to live in at all. It's a beautiful state, with tons of wildlife and forests. But it all depends on where you live in Mississippi.

i love the south and was born and raised in Mississippi and have family in Louisiana also.Alabama is a wonderful state also.most people are honest, hard working, GOD fearing Americans .it is a hard life.give them a break it has always been hard and the illegal immigrants make their life's harder!! there are only so many jobs and places to live,we do not need other people coming here breaking our laws and being rewarded for it! i think any major city in the united states would be horrid as well! good luck!!!

Mississippi is the worst if you don't like people making fun of you but the best if you like rural living and mostly friendly, polite people.
As for the person wondering if we have electricity or indoor plumbing that says more about your ignorance and narrow-mindedness than ours.

Alabama or Mississippi. They both seem incredibly backward to me. I'm not sure why I think this. Do they have indoor plumbing and electricity there? ; )
