If he's standing on a freeway exit or entrance he's not making much money. How many people would actually slow down to give him money? How much do you think someone's going to give him? a few dollars here and there? He would have to stand out there all day for weeks to actually make anything. I don't know anyone that would pretend to be homeless for too long. The truth is he's probably a depressed veteran that WILL buy a beer ( who wouldn't at the state of mind ) or some food. Some homeless sit outside the bank waiting for you to come out. Some state laws discourage that and it can be annoying, but these people need our help and a word of encouragement and love once in a while. It's easy to say " Go get a job" to them, but they have no where to sleep when they get off that job. No money for clean clothes or place to wash the clothes, no ways of showering or shaving so their co-workers aren't complaining. They need medication and professionals helping them cope with their depression. Many homeless are too embarrassed to beg or ask. We need to be the ones to offer a hand or a dollar. If they smell like poop and sweat and haven't shaved in months, they're the real deal and would greatly appreciate your dollar or warm meal.

I'm sure they're really homeless. I couldn't imagine a person leaving their house on foot to stand on the side of the highway to make money. If they had a home, then chances are they have a good paying job. If they have a good paying job, chances are they wouldn't bother standing on the side of the freeway holding a sign.

I feel bad for those ppl, we have a guy that lives there and no matter what time day or night you drive by he is there with his shopping cart. Sometimes I give him money but I go by him so often I can't give all the time, it's a shame to see him sleeping there especially in the winter

Even if they are, they could always get a job.
We can always change our situation.
We need to stop spoiling the homeless man and tell the man to help himself.
