I think, by the way things are going, civilization, politics, and all forms of democracy will have declined around that time. This would leave a population of working class people with guns to revive civilized life. Oh, do i weep for the future

I think the word "thrive" is the key to your question.
My guess is that the same type of person will thrive then as now and as in the past. Those with superior DNA. Those who are independent, creative thinkers, and risk takers. Those who are the most able to adapt to whatever the reality of existence will be by then.
As is always the case, some will accomplish this in honorable ways by creating positive situations for themselves and others by dishonerable ways or in other words by being parasites on the success of others.
Regardless of whether civilization as we know it will advance or decline in 100 years, there will always be those are predisposed to thrive....live better than the rest.
I hope we will be able to adapt to become a less barbaric life form but I fear that with more people to share the earth's limited resources with we will be forced to be more savage to get what we need to survive and to prevent others from taking it away.

In 100 years, there will be approximately 51.6 billion people living "on" Earth. There will be many layers of cities, and some people will live in space colonies on the moon, Mars, and in space, orbiting Earth. People will be extremely intelligent, able to comprehend exactly why we live and all the questions that people have today will be answered. Scientists will have proved that there is no such thing as "gods" and people live and thrive because of Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution. Scientists will also have proved how the Universe came to be and will have developed a theory for everything, or the Superstring Theory. This will encompass and connect the calculus, physics, and religious ideas of today. Energy and mass will be associated with the subatomic particles discovered, and humans will be able to manipulate and create anything they want. There will be an almost unlimited amount of supplies, and people will also invent many things, for example, people will learn how to feel orgasms whenever they want. Eventually, however, World War 3 will happen and we will kill ourselves with our impossibly strong nuclear weapons, and there will be a desolate age on Earth for about 10 million years until new organisms appear out of the darkness and debris of the leftovers of Homo sapiens sapiens. The end, thank you very much.

Well, if you believe in Darwins theory of like "survival of the fittest" then you get people that make money (stubborn business people, leading business leaders). But, still think hard, in 100 years, will we still have an Earth to live on? After 100 years i say that people will be the people that care for Earth and make the greatest good, because Mother Nature, will strike all other people down eventually. Call me weird if you want, i get that a lot... lol

You need to read the book, The Story of B, by Daniel Quinn- it is amazing and will answer that question for you. I found it on a dusty bookshelf, I'm at the end of it right now, and wow! It has really taught me a lot and changed my vision, and the way I think about these things. Go get this book!

I believe that the US will divide and destroy itself, other nations will soon be trying to conquer the US soil. Eventually they will fail as do part of distance. Then I believe the North American continent will split up into many "city-states" until one of them takes over and starts a dynasty.
I believe all the government in 100 years will be corrupted and the people will turn away from God, thus bringing forward the final events of the end.
