the movie sucked but the book was good

Omg stupidist movie invented. There was no point to that and the world was supossibly "ending." Stupid movie and waste of time to watch.

Okay.. if you haven't yet.. read the book.. I like the movie, but the book series is one of my favorites.. (I also have the original radio show on cd)
But, .. basically.. it's about the fact that our culture.. our way of life is rather pointless.. seeing it from the point of view of someone who watches it disappear. (and from the points of view of those who were from other planets as well)..
There was an undercurrent of .. hmm.. dislike of governments .. (on one planet you see what it's like when the government is ruled by religion.., another by beurocracy.. and another by a man totally unqualified for the position.. ).. You see that Adams questions fundamentalism and religion. ..

Doesn't it have a theme regarding a conflict with some beings that are the worst poets in the universe or something like that?

I feel sorry for you, my boyfriend and I had to walk out of the theater because the movie was soooo bad. Move on with life there's things that are just unexplainable such as this movie.
