Phobia is a Greek word for a psychological anxiety problem called fear, without anxiety there would be no fear. Anger is motivated by anxiety. Humans are not created with fear, this is a learned process which must go through several levels of consciousness and undergo a judgmental process in order to be used, then sometimes this is only temporary. I'm sure most of society has inferred the use of the term; Devil, I'm being in a skeptical area and here may be seen as either these people lack a substance in their lives called self-esteem or they went to sleep in elementary school. If you would bring out a King James version Bible you will find there is no such mention of a being called a Devil, only Satan and he is an angel of supreme beauty. The angels have no gender, they are neither male nor female. and Satan's name is Lucifer. Exorcism is a imaginative mental state that probably relates to Pagan rituals. Rhoda S. Student W.I.U.

A phobia is an extreme fear of a specific situation or thing, like a phobia of spiders (arachnophobia) or heights (acrophobia).

Being petrified of the devil or of exorcism are not classified as phobias, so far as I have ever heard of. Probably most people would be afraid of those things if they believe in them, especially after seeing horror films which portray them.

Your fears of these things are extreme. They probably can be traced to some specific events, situations, movies, or even thoughts or dreams that "petrified" you. Your extreme fears will probably just diminish as you grow older and realize that they do not represent a current threat to you. If they are currently a source of great anxiety, then by all means get some counseling. A psychologist should be able to help your overcome your fears.

An extreme fear such that the person avoids situations that might produce the fear, such as fear of heights or fear of spiders. If they happen upon the stimulus of fear they become very anxious and cannot act in a way to stop the situation or they run.
Usually these fears develop from some situation that caused fear and the reaction is an attempt to avoid the stimulus, so from a learning point of view it is an avoidance reaction.
The only devils that exist are our own propensity for evil and our obsession and compulsion to produce evil. The exorcism is a method of relieving this propensity which sometimes reifies itself.
