Strange, how some things come back to one's memory . . in a good way, after for the very same memory, having received so much criticism.
There was a time not too long ago, when I did take some time to occasionally date, when I had met and in time connected to a man who at first showed such niceties and gallantry, until, assured of my presence in his life he began to change. I am a soft spoken woman, because for most often I am alone, and there is no need to speak loudly at all!
One night after my date had bid me goodnight, he had criticized me for being much too old fashioned for the new modern world. I had just sat quietly, not having anything to contest, for I am quiet. However he thought that "a quiet demeanor" meant weakness, especially how others would portray me. I still sat there, but would say nothing, though I was making funny little movements with my lips, as if there was no real reason to open them and say anything of defense of myself . . for truly, old-fashioned I was!
Well, as he was leaving he said, "are you gong to be alright, or should I stay for a while and have to watch you cry?"
And I told him, I have no reason to cry, that I can think so, so I do not need a caretaker to offer me their shoulder nor their handkerchief!
The next day I had an appointment with my dentist who had one of the tenderest voices I have ever heard in my life . . and as he was giving me such gentle instructions, such as rinse with this, turn your face a little to me, are the lights above you too bright in your eyes, I could no longer hold back the burning sensation of unwelcome tears coming to the surface of my eyes. And he stopped his work to ask me, what is the matter Greci, what has made you so sad, have I hurt you?
And I said, "oh no, doctor, instead you have helped me, for your voice is so different than the bark I am used to, then I said no more, and he continued his work. At the end of the visit, I said Doctor, "do not think this is odd, but I know you have a young daughter, and I took my ruby surrounded by diamonds ring and put it into his hand and folded his fingers over it. And he looked confused as well as amazed.
Then I noticed that his lady hygienist was watching in awe to all of this, so I said, "Oh forgive me, I was not aware you were standing there, wait, I have something for you too. And I took off my earlobes the pair of jade and pearl earrings I had had on and told her it would make me very happy if she would accept them. And all of a sudden, I felt this great sorrow, for she looked so taken aback by such a grateful gesture as had been mine, that all she would repeat over and over, was, "These are lovely, thank you, thank you, these are lovely!"
And when I walked out of the office and the building I felt rejuvenated with strength returned again. Strength that I had allowed to weaken in me because For a while I had not been able to make a distinction between a soft spoken, gentle word, and a paralyzing bark!

I wanted a friend who lives in another state, to read all the books written by a certain author who happens to be one of my all time favorites. He kept promising to read the books but never seemed to get around to it. One day I realized that part of the problem was that he was too busy to obtain the books on his own, so without telling him, I got on the Alibris used book website, and I ordered all ten of the books and had them shipped to him. He didn't know I had done this, until he got the books. Then he finally read them, and he liked them....maybe not quite as much as I do, but he was still impressed, and please with the gift.
Another time, I was in this college class, and a man I already knew was also in the class. He was legally blind, so I offered to put carbon paper in my notebook so I could make him a copy of my notes. *sm*

I was walking out of the store and I heard a baby screaming. I walked toward it and notice someone was having trouble putting this huge piece of boxed furniture for the baby in the van. So I walked over and found the babies pacifier and helped put the box in. I bet they wondered who I was and what I wanted. I just walked away wishing them a great day!

I'm always buying stuff for friends and family. Right after my cousin, who I don't really like because of a lot of messed up stuff she has said about me in the past, told everyone she was pregnant I was shopping at a baby store and bought her a $200 breast pump.

I give my boyfriend sweet little gifts all the time whenever i see something nice i think he will like. I saw a cute little cowboys animated bear while shopping at walgreens and picked it up for him and a card just because he loves the cowboys.

I think love my late husband. He never expected me to love him back but I did it just because. He is no longer here but I carry on with a three year old and one on the way. I also did not put any socks on him as he disliked them and I had to let him go.

Did my best friends homework while we were at school. I knew he was having a hard time at home and with his love life, and so I did most of his homeworks for him for a few weeks. He never asked me to, I just felt that he needed help to keep on top of everything.

I have been the best friend without strings, with no games, without doubts. I have given my trust, my strength, my unconditional love and not expected anything in return. I am the keeper of secrets. I love, I give, I am.
