What would drive another to purposely try to make a person go crazy? Assuming you overheard it with your own ears. Assuming you know it to be true... Someone is trying to hurt you by making you go crazy, for instance doing something and pretending it never happened, playing mind games, trying to make you believe you are crazy.. what is the purpose of this?

They are probably trying to exert some power over you. Also, if they feel that you have wronged them, they might think that hurting you or seeing you hurting in some way will make them feel better. There is also some chance they have mental health issues themselves. Your best option is to probably avoid contact with the person as much as possible.

The only power a person can have over another is the power you give them, and some of the power is your concern and caring. I think froggie is right, avoid this person unless you have some perverse interest in being manipulated, because that is what it is, manipulation.

My sister does it to me all the time. Depends on who is doing it to who and why. Regular people, its usually someone who is trying to discredit you for some reason. Make you not believable for whatever reason. Or they want you to doubt yourself so they can get away with something.

If its a medical group or a government agency, your in trouble.
