You wouldn't think it by looking at most of the fighters over there, but steroids are huge in Japanese MMA. This happens because there are virtually no restrictions agains performance enhancers in Japanese fighting, including pro wrestling.

So, do you think Japanese wrestling is as hard up on steroids as the US wrestling industry?

I don't know, sometimes steroids can be misleading. I mean, people like Gregory Helms, John Hennigan, Rey Mysterio, and a lot of other small guys have been sited for being roid abusers. Comparing Rey-Rey and Morrison to some of those guys in Japan, I'd have to say they're similarly cut, and therefore could be using some kind of illegal substance.

I know you can make the excuse for Helms and Mysterio that they've had injuries that needed roid treatment, but what of Hennigan? Steroids are typically bulk builders, Morrison's fairly slim.

Anyway, I'm off topic. In a sense, I think about any form of Japanese fighting or entertainment and see that there's no real demand for big men, other than the giants from America like Lesnar, Albert, and Stan Hansen, but looking at guys like Masato Tanaka...I wonder, I mean, Masato's fairly built for such a small man...but who knows, right?

I guess technically since there aren't any political bloodhounds out there to condemn roids in either sport, technically there is no problem, other than health issues.

Possibly.

I wouldn't think otherwise, as steroids are a problem in every sport, regardless of where it is located. However, it is hard to tell if anyone uses it, as people who use it and users who don't all have varying body structures, and sometimes steroid abusers do no look exactly alike in structure (look at Umaga for example).

Hard to say, really, since there is no testing in Japan. I wouldn't doubt that steroids is in Japanese wrestling, quite honestly.
