Here's one of the problems for homework:

"Explain why you are most likely to only find fossils in sedimentary rocks."

Creationists would say it's because of hydrological sorting during the Flood that laid down layers upon layers of sediments and dead animals and plants ...smaller ones at the bottom layers and successively larger ones as you go up but there are many factors involved in how they were laid down such as body weight, internal bloating, quick death versus slow death, ability to evade flood waters, flotation factors of plants, etc... Those sediments eventually turned into what's called sedimentary rock.
Evolution theory taught in schools usually states that creatures or plants died by being buried in mud flows or small floods and were encased in sediments from them that eventually turned into rock.
You can always state..."The textbook says..." if you disagree with evolution.
