"Capitalism denies the idea of equality and is thus corrupt. Don't you want to live in a world of equality?"
Do you realize how wrong that statement is? Bill Gates is one of the wealthiest men in the world, but he didn't start out that way. He had an idea, exercised some initiative, made a product that was better than others and grew a company. Steve Jobs started Apple Computer the same way out of his garage. There are literally thousands of success stories of how people have started business with an idea and got wealthy through hard work. It takes some risk though. The great thing about this country is if you can dream it you can do it. Would you rather live in a society that takes what you earn and distribute it "equally" to everyone? Some place that TELLS you what job you will do? Not me. I'll do it on my own, and if I fail, I'll try something different.

America is built on capitalism and a system of protection of property ownership - by which I mean not that the founding fathers wanted to make sure that everyone had the right to own his or her own house, because they didn't care about that, they just wanted to make sure that only rich people had a vote. Thanks to a long and arduous debate on the Constitution, they were prevented from having their way. It was one of the very, very small victories for democracy that the American left has continued to win from the American right; the kind of small but crucial freedoms which have benefited the entire population instead of a small rich elite, and about which the right continue to either lie or, more likely, just be utterly pig-ignorant. In any case, the American right wouldn't be able to say the things they say if the left hadn't defended their freedom to do so.

The corruption has little to do with capitalism, it's just a human defect. There have been plenty of socialist and communist systems full of corruption. As long as there are humans on earth there will be greed and the hunger for power. That's corruption babe.

If you think that America is corrupt, what does capitalism have to do with that? The government isn't exactly lily-white in China, you know.
Mind you, America is not particularly free-enterprise, and China is not particularly communist.

You mean the corrupt capitalist system that produced the marvelous invention we call the computer? And has given us many more inventions that have given you time to sit and whine in front of your expensive computer?

They say the world will end in 2013, but I think the revolution has already begun, people are already protesting...and it's only a matter of time before the protests become violent mobs. So don't worry, it's very soon.
