I have two topics already, but I need one more topic on why the death penalty is a good thing to inforce. Any ideas? It has to be a topic that I can support with, because I'll need to write an essay on it.

Thank u for your help!

Topic supporting the Death Penalty as a good solution is totally agreeable to me.

The death penalty, although immoral to some, is justifiable in my eyes. It assures those who have commited heinous and unforgivable crimes are rightly punished, instead of the Life in prison or the all scary "We give you 3 consecutive life sentences".

It would lessen the cost to tax payers who do not take kindly to the fact that their money pays for heinous murders to live a healthy life in prison as punishment.

It would also lessen the overcrowding we have in most prisons.

Rightly so, I support the death penalty and wish that it was a used form of punishment in all the states.

There are several reasons to impose the death penalty for premeditated murder, a) retribution for the act of killing another, b) as a disincentive to others in society who might be contemplating killing someone, c) to maintain respect for law and order in society and d) as a statement that the perpetrator is beyond rehabilitation. The Supreme Court in Gregg v. Georgia set out the factors that a jury must consider in deciding whether to impose the death penalty.

Some people are just too risky to society, sociopaths especially, they just need to be put down.

Some people deserve retribution.

But while the police aren't 100% reliable I have my doubts about the death penalty. The UK police have certainly shown a willingness to send the wrong people away just because they don't like them. DNA evidence has freed enough in the US to give me severe doubts here too.
