(and Optional Bonus Question: What is the effect of a weak home currency on a country's inflation and interest rates?)

Great question, as usual. It's really hard to compare a reality to a possibility. What we know is comfortable and at least a little predictable...it's cozy. We build our walls and live inside imagined gates. It's the whole velvet handcuff syndrome--we're shackled by our comfort, by our possessions ("the things you own end up owning you"-Fight Club) and routines--Most of us would rather not pick door number 1 because we have no idea what's behind it--it could even be an angel, but how can we take the chance that it's not? It's like the poem, "The Road Not Taken" or Neo's choice in pills: choose the status quo, or choose something altogether different.

Well, not sure about the weak currency; we're having the same concerns in Canada about the strong currency--too high too fast, some say. I think both countries are in for a ride.

"Know thine enemy!"

Weak home currency should mean downward pressure on inflation, and hence, interest rates to promote spending which increases the low currency value.

Mate, you're mixing Economics with Angels&Demons !!! lol

I'd prefer neither...Because the devil you know is someone you should stay away from, and the angel you don't know can and will disappoint you...

Part 1 - You seem to be echoing a strong tenet of American foreign policy. Apparently we forgot about this when we allowed Sadam to be executed.
Part 2 - My brain is exploding! Next question!
