How do aliens know to come to earth? How do they know which people to take on their spacecrafts?

I don't think there are any aliens coming to Earth. If there were, though, I think they would home in on our radio and TV signals. Those reach out into space, not just around the world. The aliens might look for popular radio and TV personalities, since those are the people they'd be most familiar with.

However, I don't think even our oldest broadcasts will reach any alien civilizations (if they even exist) for a very, very long time. Radio waves only move at the speed of light, and radio's only about a century old, so if they aren't within about 100 light years, they wouldn't even know we exist yet.

Finding Earth is not all that hard. We've been sending out signals into space for decades. We also have the distinction of being a 'living planet'. I get the impression that living worlds are pretty valuable. The diverse potentiality of what life can create is staggering and any advanced race would have some interest in that diversity, either for the resources offered or the scientific study.

The people they take could be chosen by any number of methodologies. Simple random sampling would allow them to create a good cross reference of genotypes, providing a solid database of the diversity of terrestrial life.

They may also be looking for specific indicators, certain traits in terrestrial life that have significance to them. And, for the most part, they probably want to stay 'off the radar' as much as possible. We tend to be a pretty dangerous group of people down here. Just look at all the violence we broadcast out into space - both real and fictitious. Would you want to hang out in the open, waiting for the MIBs, SWAT or whoever to come and pick you up?

Since we don't really know THEM, the best example to look at is US. What do we do when we discover strange new places? We take samples, we examine, we record - and, for the most part, we try not to screw it up too badly. There are, unfortunately, always exceptions.

Assuming extra terrestrials have visited Earth, it wouldn't be very difficult to figure out this is the one planet in the solar system with any intelligent life. We have been broadcasting our presence to the universe for at least 70 years.

The real question is whether our signal has ever reached something capable of receiving and interpreting it. And then whether they actually have the ability to travel over long distances and reach Earth. While it's not impossible, I think it's highly unlikely.

As for who they would take, I think an civilization advanced enough to reach this far would be able to identify those members of our society who are sufficiently nutty as to not attract serious attention when they start screaming about alien abduction.

Aliens have been coming to earth for thousands of years, why they come is a mystery, perhaps we are star-seed and they they are part of us..
As far as abductions are concerned, I personally know well over 100 abductees, as I am one myself, I like many others are classified as multiple abductees...
Millions of people world-wide have seen UFOs and millions have been abducted, that is a FACT..
The government covers it up because of varied reasons, but religion is the main one, you see they want to keep all the sheep, Baaa, Baaa, grazing in their own perspective paddocks, not to mention that the Church as a collective is the largest money making institution on the planet..
Very soon the cat will be outta the bag and they will no longer be able to cover it up, NASA is about to be exposed for it has alien evidence from the moon, and there is plenty we don't know about mars, as that has been covered up also..

well I'm sorry i believe there are aliens how they know how to come here i think they been coming here for years i my self think they are way advanced then us . in the pyramids they had a picture of a UFO .how did they know what a UFO looked like if there was none .there been couple book published 123 contact were the government knew there was aliens and did not tell the people like the Roswell incident in the 1940'd is it not strange to you on the walls of the pyramids the paint never had to be painted over yet we got to paint are building's so many years ? lot of things unanswered -- but I'm one whom believe aliens do be on other planets .if I'm wrong I'm wrong. how or they do take people who knows .

Aliens are by far more intelligent than humans and have been watching us forever. They yank some people when they're asleep or driving down lonely backroads or sailing down the bermuda triangle, probably people who are loners and will not draw much attention when they disappear.

How do we know who to take? Also simple; I, and agents of xgeronptre (sorry, that's the closest I can come to the name of the homeworld, using your clumsy alphabet) like me have been here for nearly 60 of your years. We hide among you (like the talent scouts of your sports games), picking our targets carefully.

Perhaps you'd care for a little trip to the Crab Nebula (that's where the homeworld is)? I promise; nothing (much) of a sexual nature will happen to you, although the trip IS one-way.
