Christmas may not be the exact time/day that Jesus was born, and the timing may coincide with ancient Pagan traditions, however, today Christmas IS celebrated as the remembrance of Jesus's birth.

St. Nicholas was an ancient greek orhtodox priest that gave dowry's to the young women in his town. Afterwards, he became the tradition of Santa Claus. Following the poem, The Night Before Christmas and Coca Cola advertisements, did Santa come to represent a red elf with flying reindeer.

It is a pity that there is so much confusion regarding the day that Christians celebrate the birth of the Savior.

December 25 has been designated as a day of celebration of the birth of Christ but it is generally agreed that it is not the actual day of his birth.

Santa Claus, as we know him today is based on the poem,
The Night Before Christmas. However, there are other stories legends, and tales that talk of a person known as Father Christmas, or in the Spanish culture it is the wise men who leave gifts for good children. In some cultures it is a woman, who was asked to go to the child but delayed and is no seeking the Christ child. Saint Nicholas is another name that has been given to Santa (from Holland) and the legend is that he was church Bishop that gave gifts to the poor and has been associated with gift giving at Christmas time. His feast day is Dec 6th.

So the connection between Santa and Christmas is the gift giving. God gave his very best gift, his Son to redeem a world. Santa gives gifts of love in commemoration of the original gift of Love

Santa is not directly related to Jesus. He was made up by a particular culture I'm not sure which as he has many names. But The tradition developed around christmas to give gifts to each other just as the wise men gave gifts to Jesus.

Jesus is most definately what christmas is about thats why They call it "Christ-mass." But I won't argue that he wasn't born on december 25th and that date was chosen to overshadow a pagan holiday. Just don't let people tell you that christmas wasn't about Jesus' birth. Thats crazy talk.

Jesus is not related to Christmas. Bible doesn't have Jesus birth date. They have vague document explaining the weather condition he was born in and religious leaders believe he was born in summer. But Why we celebrate x-mas in December has to do with history.
When Christianity came to be, people from Zorasterism used to celebrate Sun day on December 25th. It was a national holiday. Christians leaders wanted to wipe their beliefs out. One of the attempt was to have people celebrate Jesus birthday on December 25th. They forced people to stop with worshiping Sun on that day and start with Jesus worshiping.

they aren't. and no, christmas is not jesus' birthday. they are both ficticious characters meant to make the holidays more fun. (christmas was just a pagan ritual until christians decided to embrace it as the day we celebrate the birth of christ.)
