How do you make a online text based multyplayer game??

can anyone tell me how to make a online text based soldier/fighting/strategy game?

I want to use tripod to host it and i want to have user accounts for my friends....

But your edit makes it sound like you want a game that can be played using the browser like windows Explorer? You might want to reask in the computer area. You would be looking for something written in javascript I think
