I know that a lot of shows are shut down due to the strike, and I have read that most of the stars of these shows are supportive to the striking writers. Can anyone tell me the specifics? I guess in retrospect, I should've waited until the little punk chi'dren went to bed to ask this question, because I know I will get the stock IDK answers, but any light you can shed would be most appreciated.

The writers feel that they got shafted on DVDs - they got paid for their work based on TV show broadcasts but got next to nothing for their work on these shows when released on DVD. So they are striking because they demand what they feel is their fair share of the money to be made in the so-called 'new' media, internet broadcasts, podcasts, etc.

People making an average of 200K per year still want more money. I guess the cost of living has really gone up in New York and Cali.
