his stats look alright, but had he not been injured this is what it what actually look like. His first season he was on pace for 103 pts(56g, 47a) his sophomore season he was on pace for 125pts( 56g, 69a) third seaon 127pts( 52g, 75a) season after that 129pts( 52g 77a) his fifth season he was on pace for 124pts( 50g, 74a) his sixth season he was on pace for 39g and 53a. Now i dont know about you but that sounds alot like hall of famer type scoring averages, it was his injuries that held him back, and alot of people say he doesn't deserve to be in the HHOF because he never won a Stanley Cup, or his numbers arent impressive enough. The same can be said about Cam Neely too, injury prone, great scoring averages, never won the Stanley Cup, but atleast Lindros wone the Hart Memorial Trophy,. So does Eric Lindros deserve to be in the hockey hall of fame? because atleast he helped his team get to the finals unlike neely( and know i'm not dissing Cam Neely in any possible way, thats for sure)

i say honestly he could of put up about 1500 pts in his career, with less injuries and about 550 goals.

Lindros will be in the Hall of Fame, and most likely in his first year of eligibility
- Lindros has the 14th highest points per game average in NHL history (5th before the Stevens hit).........everybody above him (aside from Sakic, and Yzerman).....is in the Hall of Fame
- 61% of the HHOF's members had shorter careers/played fewer games - so not an excuse
- averaged 1.5 ppg or higher in 4 seasons - only Gretzky and Lemieux can make that claim (Every player in NHL history who is eligible for the hall of Fame and averaged 1.5 points a game more than once - is in the Hall of Fame)
- 2nd highest points per game in the 90s behind Lemieux
- 1 Hart trophy (All players eligible for the Hall of Fame who have won the Hart Trophy - are in the hall of Fame)
- 1 Pearson trophy ((All players eligible for the Hall of Fame who have won the Pearson Trophy - are in the hall of Fame)
- 6 NHL All-Star Games (All players eligible for the Hall of Fame who have played at least 6 all-star games - are in the hall of Fame)
- 1 NHL First Team All-Star
- 1 NHL Second Team All Star

Eric Lindros is the ONLY Centre in the Gretzky/Lemieux era to be an end of season all-star more than once.

I would say that Cam Neely is in the Hall of Fame for "creating" the power forward position, not just because of his stats (though he is one of the only players to have scored 50 goals in 50 games).

Neely is an exception as far as the HOF is concerned. I don't think many others with injury-shortened careers will make it in unless they've done something truly special (i.e., break one of Gretzky's main records).

I don't know that Lindros will make it. The injuries will count against him, as will the fact that despite his great skills, he still didn't live up to the expectations (It's not his fault for having so much hype, but it works against his chances).

His stats probably suggest that he should be there. The fact that you have to project stats for almost every season suggests otherwise. It is not only the Stevens hit, he got injured almost every year only once playing 81 games.

I think what will keep him out of the Hall is his attitude. Refusing to go to the Jr team that drafted him, refusing to go to the Nordiques. Along with His Dad trying to get a coach fired in Philly.

he thought he was above the game and its traditions and for this reason he does not deserve to be part of the Hall of Fame.

I think Mike Milbury said it right last night when he said you want to see pictures of people you respected on the walls at the HHOF.

I have no respect for him as a man, his skill ant talent were there no doubt but without the proper attitude they mean nothing.

If he does get in he will have is parents petitioning the Hall to insure is plaque is in the right highly visible spot that he so richly deserves. Give me a break!!!

Big E really disappointed me not with his skills or statistics but for his crappy attitude. I should have seen the writing on the wall when he refused to report to the Nordiques but I was hungry for a championship and bought into all the hype about him. He thought he deserved all the money before delivering a Cup. Since he failed to deliver and blamed the Flyers for his treatment I lost respect for him. I'll be glad to forget his name.

He will be in there eventually, but because the injuries and office problems, i doubt he will get in when first eligible. he created a bad image of himself when he decided to not go to quebec when he was drafted, and also when he held out for a year.

but on the plus side, no one has mentioned that his "legion of doom" line did changed the game in the mid 90s. he was also a great leader, could hit, and would drop the gloves.

Huge differece between could of and did. If he did it, he'd be a shoe in, but he didn't. It's too bad, though. I'd would have loved to see what he could do with a healthy career.
