I am 34 weeks pregnant and from personal experience baths are fine. Drs will usually advise you to have warm baths-not hot ones. Having a nice warm bubble bath nearly everyday since I was about 12weeks pregnant has been so calming and relaxing-especially with sore back or feet. The only thing I found more recently is it's a good idea to have someone at home who can help you in or out if needed. So if you feel like having a bath-run one, lay back and enjoy.

The only problem with taking a bath during pregnancy is the temperature of the water. You must be sure that the water is WARM not HOT. Hot water can over-heat the baby and cause distress or even death. I am not sure the exact temperature that you want to keep the water below. Maybe you should check with your doctor if you want to be sure. My doctor just told me yesterday that warm baths are fine though.
There is not a problem with using bubbles either. The baby is protected from outside elements until your water has broken. (No baths after your water breaks!!)

babygirl...you are fine to have baths. You should not be in a bath that's too hot, but I have yet to know a pregnant woman who can stand hot-tub like temperatures anyway, so you will most likely choose the temperature that is safe for you.
Bubbles are fine too. It has long been believed that bubbles can irritate the urethra and lead to more urinary tract infections (bladder infections), so some doctors suggest that you limit your bubble baths. That said, if you've been able to tolerate them in the past I wouldn't worry about it.
For many years women were told that they couldn't be in the bathtub once they lose their mucous plug and/or once their water breaks. This is no longer believed to be true. When you end up in labour, water can be a great source of pain relief.
Douching (squirting water into your vagina to "clean it") is never good for a woman's health and is definitely not a good idea as it may introduce germs into your vagina and cervix.
Good for you to take this time and pamper yourself. Best wishes.

I have been preg 3 times & had baths with all of them.Even in labour the midwifes put me in a bath (assisted) as for bubbles I would just make sure they are safe to use during pregnancy as I usually use bath bombs & did read a warning on the packet advising not to use during pregnancy so I avoided them all together!

A bath (that's not too hot) is fine and with bubbles would be great, especially if the back aches. You have to avoid hot tubs/jacuzzis, but that's b/c of the high heat. Also, never allow a spray or force of water into your privates, as you could compromise the amniotic sack. Other than that, enjoy your relaxing bath.
See below site. It's great.

As far as I know, yes and yes. My sister had a son about 5 months ago, and my sister NEVER showers. She always bathed, and used bubbles a lot of the time. I don't think it has any negative side effects as long as the water isn't too hot and you don't stay in for more than 20 minutes or whatever. Sort of like a hot tub.

Yes taking a bath is perfectly normal when you are pregnant i did it when i was pregnant not only that but the doctor recommended it to me because he said that it helps you relax and the bubbles will not harm the baby either so you can go ahead it is ok.

Generally they are not recommended because they can raise your body temperature to a point that it becomes dangerous for bubs. They also increase the risk of transferrable infections so showering is far better. Having said that, during my first pregnancy, my legs got so tired and sore I just HAD to have a bath. I used a water thermometer to keep the temperature below 36 degrees. If you REALLY want, one recommend you do the same.

I agree with most of you - baths are absolutely fine but you have to make sure they are not too hot. My obstetrician told me this is because if your temperature rises too much it could be dangerous to the baby. I have never heard of any risks to do with having bubble baths.
Enjoy relaxing baths while you still can - after the rugrats are born there is little time for anything but a quick shower!

I was always told that baths were fine and I took baths with all 5 of my pregnancies and all 5 babies were fine. I used bubble bath as well. I was cautioned that it was not good for the baby to take a very hot bath, so watch the temperature of the water.
happy bathing and good luck
