Personaly I think that magg should win it just becuase of what he did last season. I dont think Arod should win it just becuase hes not the most valuble player. Yanks are stacked with "all-stars". So i think magg should win it.

Just becuase arod got major stats doesnt make him MVP.Sure, hes probably the best in the league now but look at the definition of mvp? MOST VALUBLE PLAYER. Magg is more valuble than arod. Without magg the tigers would be no where.

Yankees have 13 studs..Giambi, Matsui, Damon, Melky, Bobby, AROD, Jeter, Cano, Posada, Chien, Rivera, Andy, Mussina....

So ur telling me that if arod left they wouldnt be in the playoffs?

It took me awhile to answer, because I was laughing so hard at the poster who said Maggs had a WAY better season than Arod. It wasnt even close. Oh, and the fact that the Tigers didnt make the playoffs is a factor.

The Yankee "studs" did not perform well for most of the first half, and were inconsistent the rest of the way. Arod had something like ten ninth inning HR's. He played tremendous defense, kicked butt with RISP. He had a far better year than anyone in the league. Dont get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Maggs. Always have been. I'd love to have him on the Yankees. But please. Arod was so much better and so much more valuable than anybody in the AL that it's almost comical to think he will not win the MVP this year.

Why would we nominate Magg for "last year" When the mvp is supposed to be for 2007? Why?

He has Offense around him. Curtis Granderson, Placido Polanco and Carlos Guillen. Derek Jeter was injured and banged up most of this year and Posada and Matsui have both had time off to rest. And Cano struggled majorly throughout the first two months of the season. The most consistent Yankee this year was Alex Rodriguez. 52 home runs and 151 rbis is no lie! Rodriguez will win the 2007 A.L. MVP!

Maggs had a great year, but he fizzled a bit towards the end and ARod heated up. All voting was done before the playoffs - so ARod's bad October won't be taken into consideration.

WAIT LAST SEASON. LAST SEASON. Wow we're talking about this season. Magglio didn't even win the MVP last year. Justin Morneau did. And anyway the Yankees only had 3 all-stars so the team isn't that stacked with all stars and if there wasn't A-Rod the Yankees would never be in the post season. Damon, Matsui, Giambi, Cabrera are not studs at all.

Are you serious?? Magglio Ordoñez? Come on. Did he hit 54 hrs and 150 rbis? no not even close. His batting average was a little better but ARod still batted .319 and that wasnt even talked about. ARod carried the Yanks and lifted the spirit.

Its going to be Alex Rodriguez he nearly single handingly carried the Yankees in the first couple of months when they were horrible he was nearly theonly one contributing. He will definitely be the AL MVP even though ordonez did great this year

Are you kidding? A-Rod carried the Yankees this year. Without him they would not have gone to the playoffs. How is he not the most valuable. Led the league in home runs and RBI, how is he not the MVP.

A-Rod no doubt - he has the numbers and the Yanks would not have made it to the playoffs w/o his early season heroics..he is the reason why the Yanks made the playoffs...that is an MVP.

If the MVP winner signs with a National League team, it will go to some AL EX-player.

No, it's not a very good line, but it's what I had to work with.
