I mean...come on, people...

This kid is in 4th Grade...let's not "crucify" him, for chrissakes! He didn't "intend" to burn down an entire county...sheesh! (and that could've happened from just about anything...they stuck thousands of houses up on a dry hillside in a "fire-storm prone" way...

Let's get real...shall we?!?

I played with matches in a closet when I was about 7/8,and smoked some of my mothers roll your owns until I was sick as a dog.The babysitter just shook her head at me as I lay on the floor hoping I would die soon.
She didn't need to squeal on me,and never bothered to.
Thank you Mrs.Thorne!

of course. I also played with candles and stuff, and I volunteer to set the leaves on fire after my father is done sweeping them. But to set the whole mountain on a single matchstick, well I had no chance on doing that, but I would if I can get out of it.

Yes. I use to light dead grass, leaves and hay on fire. But I was smart. I always had a water hose with me. I out grew that habit after I caught my garbage can on fire and scared the cr*p out of myself. I think I was like 15.

Yep and aerosol cans with the matches makes a great flame thrower. But I knew it was wrong and I knew what the potential consequences were.

Nah, too afraid of starting a fire that would spread throughout SoCal. Can't afford to be sued...

No, I was more responsible than that. I waited until I was fourteen.
