I'm having the same problem actually. I'm just trying to keep my mind off of it--usually going and doing helps me alot. Even if its just running to Walmart or something. I've been renting alot of games and movies as well..that helps too. My drinking has picked up a bit, but I guess thats to be expected. I do wish the best of luck to you!! I know its hard...this is the first time in 10 years that I've even attempted to stop!

Run ! That's what I used to do when I needed one !
If that is impossible, or undesirable, stay away from anyone who could get you any. And flush any that you have around the house. Seriously, just pull yourself away from society until your craving is over.
If all of these seem like horrible ideas, go for the joint. One won't kill you. Actually, one hundred probably wouldn't kill you. Its a plant for heavens sakes ! And its unaddictive.
Good Luck !
[EDIT] I just reread your question, and I've changed my mind. I don't want you to go for the joint at all. Because of your past drug addiction, this may cause you to want harder drugs. I've seen it happen with my brother. Find one of the suggestions that these kind people gave you that actually work, and I wish you the best of luck.

Understand what it is. Everyone needs a crutch to get thru this world, from religion, to power, to lust and beyond. I'm sure that you being a mom (and pretty smart) you know when to call your shots, if not you have a bigger problem than this. Reefer ain't no bad thing by itself. Study about medical marijuana (that's legal in 12 states) when you get back to school. This doesn't make you a crook.

dont think you can stop the craving hon,all you can do is compare the pro's and cons.the cons far outway the pro's i.e, youre kids and youre future vs a short temporary change in mindset.
anytime you get the craving how about running yourself a nice hot bath, light some candles, get that someone special to give you a back rub maybe put on some kenny g........ehh..maybe i'e said too much, the point is, replace the craving with something that relaxes you and takes youre mind off it.
ps.i'm not into kenny g.

Well
1). marijuana is not known to be addictive. (UCLA Crancer)
2). you should not feel guilty or "crooked" for craving to smoke a joint. Marijuana is a weed, that's it. Do you feel "crooked" when you drink a beer?
Probably not, hops, what beer is made from is in the
cannabis family, go figure.
3). You're in Law School. Find Your Local Stoner, and buy a damned joint and get stoned.

Think of your kids! Would you want them smoking it! Plus your career, is dope worth the risk or ruining your career? And then your life? Don't fool yourself, one puff will lead to another, then one more won't hurt. Get real you have too much to lose.
Once you become a lawyer, then you can fight to legalize it!
I like some of the answer on here, substitute one drug for another! That's good! *sarcasm*

You could eat a bag a popcorn, watch a movie, and get high on chocolate all at the same time. It's your choice. You should do whatever makes you feel good.

Stress? Work out a sweat and gain few pounds in muscle, like in weight lifting. It keeps the fat off and the body ready for action....hmmm...and puts you on good terms with your body, your muscles relax. Good for looks.
The reason it is bad is it keeps from what you really need and they charge way to much for it.

I'm sorry I don't have any good advice other than to keep reminding yourself *why* you don't want to want that joint.
I really just wanted to send you my support. What you are doing is hard and, this may sound hokey, but it takes courage to choose a better life.
