ok so i moved up temporarily into a management position and a girl got my position while i was out. I didnt like it and i told my manager i didnt think she was ready. i realized i didnt need to be the person telling my boss what she was doing wrong so i changed my attitude and tried to help the girl and encourage her even though she was very very rude to me, i brushed it off and tried to be the bigger person
. Anyhow today im trying to help her out and give her an easier way to do things && an hour later my boss calls me and tells me to quit calling her and leave her alone. i promise you folks i was nice to her and never was rude, she hates that i have been @ the company a lot shorter time then her and moved up faster, but this is ridiculous. should i keep my mouth shut from now on
? what can i do to make my boss see im not a troublemaker (she didnt imply i was but it seems to me like i am lol)

If I had a boss like that, would have quit ages ago.
I have worked for that type once to often, and looking back the only regret I ever had was that I did not leave sooner.
As for the girl, don't ring her, it is always nicer to chat face to face.
Bearing in mind some are only nice to your face. Why would a boss say anything to you if he/she has had no complaints.
And, yes, in that type of environment it is best not to say too much.
Always easier to get another job once you already have one. Because no one likes to employ someone who says she/he is not working.
But if an employer knows you are a busy person you are more of interest to their company.

This always happens when a coworker promotes to management in the same company. If she asks for your help, that's one thing. But if you're bending over backwards to help her without her asking, she just sees it as you rubbing her face in the fact that you're her superior now. Give her some space and and let her come to you. Never be rude. Your boss will notice the difference eventually. Just remember that the best advice is the kind you ask for.

I t could be that she didn't say anything to him but you were moved up because he felt that you could do the job and now he is trying to see if she can do the job without help before deciding what to do with her and perhaps even to make your position a permanent one. just concentrate on doing the best job you can where you are now and let her sink or swim on her own.
I suspect that he knows that you are not a trouble maker or you wouldn't have been promoted but perhaps he thinks she is a trouble maker and wants to give her some rope to hang herself. Good luck in the management position!!

There's probably been some "gossip" going around and it's been about you prior to the change of your attitude. I'd be pleasant and keep your "shortcuts" to yourself. Maybe bring in some donuts for the "gang" to show them you are a team player. The boss calling you in is not a good thing. LOL.

She hasn't moved up in the company cause she is a substandard employee and she shows this with her unprofessional attitude. That would probably mean she is lying to your boss or is paranoid or something.
Or perhaps, like my company, they reward kiss asses and she is such a person. If your boss can't see the unprofessional behaviour for what it is, then she is as dumb as the dope complaining about you. Just leave the silly tart alone and maybe she will trip herself up.
Otherwise find another job and tell them to stick it up themselves!!

Yeah, you moved up to management, but does your management position oversee HER job..if not..let her screw it up..don't get involved in any way unless her screw ups are going to make you look bad. Let her manager deal with it.
If you ARE her manager, you have every right to ensure that she is doing the job properly and advising her of better ways to do it. My last job was a place like this..my subbordinates could go above me anytime they felt like it, and because they were there longer than me...they got the sympathy instead of my boss respecting MY management role.

Drop it RIGHT NOW! Don't go to the boss again about this matter, and do as was requested, and let this person do her job (your former job) the best way she can. If your help is needed, they will ask...but until then, do YOUR job and don't gossip or run to the boss over this person

just leave the girl alone. Although your intentions were good, let your boss see that the girl is not ready. A situation will come that will show you are more qualified for the job

First of all, stay away from her. Dont even look at her. With lawsuits flying around offices today, I wouldnt even look her way! There are people in this world who are mean and would stop at nothing to ruin a person. IGNORE her and never bring her up to your boss.
