As a veteran,
I have to wonder,
What does the government have to do, with me being homeless ?
No one ever promised veterans life long care, or life long housing.
Veterans have to get a job, just like anyone else.
Now Veterans were promised life long care, for injuries or illness's that are service connected.
But no one can make them seek care.
And to the poster who mentioned veterans benefits being cut.
Thats just not true.
The VA budget has increased 87% in the last 6 years.
From 47 billion to 88 billion dollars.
Thats after only increasing 30% the preceding 8 years.
Less than 1% of the VA case load and patients, are veterans from Iraq or Afghanistan.

Some vets do slip thru the cracks. However, I am a vet and receive good care at our local Vet's clinic. I can't complain.
Ken S....get a brain. Your ignorance is showing. Is it possible in your world for someone to have an opinion without being branded a liberal or conservation? Sometimes it is better to be quiet and have people think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Just a thought.

Wow, another bunch of numbers that show we don't care aboout vets. When is someone going to start posting the positive numbers? Lke how many vets get treatment at VA clinics free of charge. How many billions are spent each year on upkeep and building new clinics. Or how about the Hundreds of Veterans outreach programs and offices around the country.
Do not tell me about vets not being treated fair or not being taken care of. Believe me we vets are well taken care of, better than most.

Begging and pleading babies are not unique to the middle East. you will come across that sorry difficulty in each and every continent. utilising your logic, US troops would desire to be in Congo, Rwanda, El Salvador, Brazil, Indonesia, Timor, Burma, Cambodia ... the record is massive. And it does not incorporate some aspects interior the borders of america. specific, it rather is amazingly worrying. Are you suggesting that many individuals are arrogant and overindulged? specific they're. i could guess those smuglets characterize maximum individuals of individuals who blindly persist with the instructions of the Ruling Political party who choose which you would be able to have faith that the U. S. had a morally justifiable reason to pass interior the 1st place, yet for the reason that that grew to become out to be fake, now you're to forget that and concentration on a contrived choose for for the U. S. to stay indefinitely. united states of america has many "freedoms", probable better than maximum different worldwide places, however the definition of "freedom" isn't absolute. most of the "freedoms" interior the U. S. are constrained or sacrificed for the sake of a feeling of protection or for the sake of political convenience. And america easily isn't the only u . s . interior the international that pulls immigrants, as plenty by using fact the smuglets in that u . s . choose for to have faith it somewhat is. As for "helping our troops", I recommend which you do no longer undertstand the theory. conflict isn't a soccer game. "helping our troops" isn't a count of cheering in unison. help ought to selection from some thing as profound as identifying to serve to some thing so user-friendly as sending care applications. help additionally skill showing admire to an honorably serving member of the U. S. defense force, regardless of the political blundering that have been given him deployed interior the 1st place. you're, possibly, due such honor. you would be able to get carry of that honor even from people who do no longer purchase the justifications of politicians who created the placement we are in. To the source of the remark "no longer liking the fact"; you would be wanting the fact basically as quickly as I provide it to you! carry your breath. yet another thumbs down.

I have several veterans in my family young and old. None are homeless. It all depends on the choices you make in life as far as financially and taking care of ones self physically and mentally. With that said, benefits for all veterans should be better.

Yes, It's pathetic. Some people run around telling Democrats that they don't support the troops and that they're traitors, etc. Then turn around and cut their benifits. Ridiculous.

Well, if we weren't spending $1 trillion to invade 3rd world countries that pose no threat to us instead of chasing down those who actually attacked us (Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida), we would have money to support the troops with.
