I'm 16 and for the past 4 or so hours i have had the constant urge to pee. I feel like i have a full bladder, and when i go to pee (which is about every 30 mins) i only pee a little. There's no burning or blood and i have not been drinking extra fluids. I also has a painful, hard bowel movement today. Could that be related to my peeing urge? or is it unrelated? So does all this sound like a UTI? What do i do about it?

Because of your age and the fact that it's your first UTI, you should definitely go to the doctor before the infection spreads to your kidneys. You'll get an antibiotic and should feel some relief in 2-3 days.

Over the counter remedies can work if you start them as soon as you notice symptoms but, because this is your first one you should go see a physician.

In the future, make sure you drink plenty of fluids everyday and wear underwear with a cotton crotch. Also, if you're sexually active, make sure you go pee right after sex to prevent bacteria from traveling to your bladder.

It can be treated with over the counter medications, but because of your age, I'd have your mum take you to see a doctor. Bladder infections and kidney infections can be serious. The doctor will just examine you and take a urine specimen. It's not complicated or painful, but if you let it go, it could become serious. Meanwhile, drink lots of water and cranberry juice. Keep yourself hydrated.

See your doctor! UTIs are NOT treated with over the counter medications. They are treated with ANTIBIOTICS which come from a DOCTOR! DO NOT LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE THAT SAY THEY HAVE OVER THE COUNTER STUFF FOR THEM!!! You can make your kidneys worse!!!!!!!!
