I saw this as well. I think it is a good plan actually, whats the point of building a wall between the US and Mexico anyway? If you watched Lou Dobbs last night he did an intrest piece where he was showing California farmers which moved their whole operation to Mexico in order to get enough people to do the labor. (And he pays at least minium wage to all employees but was run out of his own country because of the new imigration laws.)

They did NOT cut spending. They removed an amendment from a defense spending bill.
It had been placed in the inappropriate defense bill by a Republican, to try to mess with the Democrats.
Being removed from the defense bill, it can now be placed in a more appropriate bill.
Lou Dobbs is a couple of bricks short of a full load on immigration - he makes a living by sensationalizing the immigration debate and should NOT be relied upon to accurately report what is taking place.

Sounds good to me. Our military-industrial complex sucks the life out of us. I'm so overjoyed that the words "terrorism" and "security" are used to take away just about as much money and as many rights (Patriot Act) from people as the government wants.
How about we put some of the money into inner-city schools.

I have to add, as another respondent noted, that building a wall is the f'n stupidest idea I have ever heard. What, are we going to turn the U.S. into the Soviet Bloc, put up a second Berlin Wall and shoot people who attempt to get over it? Only morons could think such a thing would be effective or even humane. We use walls to keep out animals. It's just not gonna work with people.

Many things are done in the government that we're unaware of...thank God for Lou Dobbs, Larry King and many others who stand up and speak out.

That can only be in committee.. They can vote for that behind closed doors.
All money spent has to be accounted for. Maybe the committee cut it. But it still have to be a vote that is recorded. What the committee voted on doesnt have to be public, what the full floor votes on does.
