This isnt a really deep question or anything, but I just wanted to see why people think certain states are the best and why.

For me, its Virginia!!! Its got everything! The beautiful Appalachians in the West, the peaceful and quiet eastern shore in the East, the rural and quiet South, the nation's capital and its HUGE and wealthy metropolitan area to the North, and Williamsburg (the birthplace of freedom) and the first permanent English settlement in the Americas in the Southeast corner. Not to mention we are home to the most US presidents of any state and we have been voted to have the nicest state parks of any state in the union.

And its my home state :)

I'm eager to hear your answers and see some strong state pride!!!

Yes, I like Florida too. There is always something to do, and the beaches are beautiful. But year-round summer can get old (I used to live there) and the drivers are really bad cuz they are all either old retired people or illegals without drivers licenses, hah. But yeah, Florida would be my second.

Rhode Island.

Its the first place along the shore from maine to brazil where you have big rocky cliffs going down to the sea. Its not too cold in the winter and not too hot in the summer. It has tons of history. Newport has more pre revolutuionary war buildings than any other city. Providence has way more culture than any other city in relation to population. You can go anywhere in the state for 1.25 on public transportation. In the hilly west along the connecticut border there is a lot of protected land and you can feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. You can pretty much go anywhere in the whole state by boat, its the fastest way to get around.

I wouldnt call any state "the best" but i feel like i have to stand up for little rhody. it has a lot to offer. I grew up in VA and lived for a long time in AK. I now live in NY. I still love going home to RI, climbing down the cliff and swimming in the sea, or walking down ancient alleyways to hidden restaurants with fresh seafood. Or just breathing the fresh clean spring air.

For me, the best U.S. states are California, Florida, or Hawaii. I couldn't really decide on one state but the ones I listed are the best to me.

In California, there's just so much to do and so much to see. There's beaches, mountains, deserts, forests, and so much more. California is probably one of the most diverse states in the U.S., and I like states that have a diverse population. Plus California nice weather. But I guess California has one downside, and that's the wildfires and earthquakes, but as long as you live in the city or away from the forests, wildfires wont be a problem.

Hawaii is nice because it has some of the most beautiful beaches and sunsets in the world and Hawaii has 80 degree temperatures year round. As a matter of fact, my uncle just left to go on vacation in Hawaii for about 3 weeks just today.

And last but not least, Florida. The only downside to Florida is the hurricanes, but other than that, Florida has nice beaches, warm weather for much of the year, and so many things to see. I've been to Walt Disney World, Sea World, MGM Studios, Orlando Studios, and the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and I loved it.

I LOVE Ohio! We have 3 large cities, with 2 pro football teams, 2 pro baseball teams, 1 pro hockey team, 1 pro soccer team and 1 pro basketball team. We have the quiet country, including Amish country. We have the best amusement park in the world, Cedar Point. And the #1 NCAA football team. Could it get any better?
