There's a little glitch called genetics, but otherwise you'd have a very perceptive and clever solution! And as far as religious people go, we like to crowd them all together in the bible belt so we can keep an eye on them.

European Jews, or Ashkenazim Jews, are a race of people, not a group of people of a certain religion. There are many people who are Jewish because of their ancestry and many people who are Jews because they converted to Judaism. Tay-Sach is a mutation that is more common in certain races, especially European Jews, French Canadians, and Cajuns, and has nothing to do with the religion of the individual or where they live, but with their ancestry.
