When they knocked me out it seemed like i was asleep only 30 seconds, it took about 2 weeks to heal and to get back to work. The less active i was the less it hurt. I had to eat and drink clear liquids for the first day. Wasn't too bad.

There are two main ways they do it these days. One is to make a very small incision (about 1 inch) near your belly button, and then use instruments with a tiny camera to go in and get it. The other way, believe it or not, is to use similar instruments to go down your throat, so there's no incision at all. Of course, you'll be out for the procedure. It takes a few hours, and you'll probably go home the next day. You'll need to take it easy for a few days, but that's about it. They'll give you some pain meds, but usually it hurts very little. You will need to be careful about what you eat afterward.

I had my gallbladder out two years ago and the surgery was about 2-4 hrs. and no it didn't hurt much at all. I was back to work in two weeks. I had laproscoptic surgery and I have 4 small incisions. Good Luck!

When I had mine removed it was years ago and not done via laproscope as yours will most likely be done. Mine was done along with some other extensive surgery and was extremely painful and took a long time to heal. Yours should not be as painful (they will give you pain meds don't worry) and will probably take 3 to 6 weeks to fully recover. Good luck I'm sure everything will be just fine. Don't stress over it.

Easy surgery, most likely an overnight in the hospital. You will be sore after for a few days - take a few days off from work. There will be a few small incisions on your lower stomach but nothing major. It will be a breeze!
