This is a mixture.

If you have these three materials all mixed and want to separate, first dump it in water and stir, only the sugar will dissolve, the wax will float and the sand will be at the bottom. Skim off the wax and give it one more rinse to eliminate any last traces of sugar. next pour off the water, give the sand one more stirring with more water and pour off this water into that previously collected. if you want to recover the sugar let this water evaporate. All that is left is the sand in the container. These materials are so cheap it's probably not worth the time to try to recover.
