Doing a clutch on the ground is no fun. Using a lift and a transmission jack is the way to go. If you shop around and get a few estimates you may find that having it done by a professional is priceless. If you are determined to do it yourself purchase a complete clutch kit. This includes a clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bushing and most importantly a clutch alignment tool for the specific vehicle. I would also recommend a manual but I would choose all-data on line repair manuals.

First you will have to get the front end up in the air like on ramps. Take the boot of the floor to get the gear shift out then take the speedometer cable off and disconnect the clutch linkage. There is a wire plugged into it some where and that is for the back up lights it has to be unplugged. Then take the drive shaft out then put a jack under the oil pan and take the cross member out that hold the transmission up. Next put some blocks under the oil pan and let the jack down just a little bit so you don't twist the motor mounts this way you have a good support under the engine. Now take the bolts out that hold the transmission to the bell housing and slide the transmission back till the input shaft clears the bell housing. If you are doing it by hand it may be a little heavy. When I did it I lowered it down to my chest and then rolled it off me or you can use a floor jack but you will need some help to stabilize it as you pull it out of the bell housing. Next take the bell housing off the back of the engine. Now your pressure plate and clutch are exposed. Take the bolts out the hold the pressure plate on. Be care full as you do this because the clutch could roll out from behind it and fall on you. If you have to change the pilot bushing a easy way to get it out is fill the hole full of grease and take a punch or a bolt or some thing that is a very close fit and hit the bolt with a big hammer real hard. The hydraulic pressure will pop the bushing out.

Lift truck as high as you can. Remove driveshaft and all trans linkage, electrical connectors, and clutch linkage or slave cylinder. Drain fluid and remove trans. Remove clutch housing. Remove clutch pressure plate and disc. Remove flywheel and send it to a machine shop for re-surfacing. Reverse to install.

the best advice i can give is go to your auto parts store and purchase a Hayne's or Chilton's repair manual for your vehicle. These manuals provide step by step instructions based on a complete car rebuild. They have never failed me when needed.
