Please help me with this problem. I have no idea how to do it!
1+2^2+3^2+4^2+......= (n+1)^2

It is really complex. I am trying to find the answer! Please help!

Just to make it more clear. I have no idea. My English is really bad and this is what I hear from my teacher when he is talking about our homework. So it is maybe 1+2^2+....=n+1^2. I am trying to find n. Thanks for answering!

if the .... means it goes on forever, then (n+1)^2= n(n+1)(2n+1)/6

I plugged it into my calculator.... -1, -(73^(1/2)+/-5)/4

+/- means plus or minus, as in two separate answers.

2^2=4+1= 5
3^2=9
9+5= 14
4^2= 16
a number to the ^2 is a number multiplied by itself
= (n+1)^2
distribute the ^2
N^2+ 1^2 =
n^2+1

It's called the Sum of Squares.
1²+2²+...+n² = (1/6)n(n+1)(2n+1)

I haven't figured out what the (n+1)² is about.

See if the formula is true for n= 1
1 = (1+1)^2 = 4
1 is not = 4
Thus statement is false.

1+2^2+3^2+...+n^2= n × (n + 1) × (2n + 1) / 6
This is the right formula.
Are you tring to prove it or find the value for n=something?
