I want to paint on wine glasses and pilsner glasses as Christmas presents. I'm not sure what type of paint to use and well... I have no clue what else I need!
Any advice?

Thanks!

Just a suggestion, instead of painting, you can use a self-etching solution. You tape out the design you want and carefully cut it out. Then, you merely spread the solution over the area you want etched and let it sit. After that you merely rinse it off and remove the tape. Etched glasses. You can find the cream at just about any craft store or just Google glass etching cream. Good Luck.

Here's an example of the instructions:

I did a search for "paint for glass" and here is the first site that came up (go figure):

http://www.paintforglass.com/

This place is in the UK. But, I would imagine either you could find a seller closer to where you live (unless you *are* in the UK) or they could ship it to wherever you are.

As a follow up, there's a place called Slumpy's in North Carolina that stocks the Pebeo glass paint shown in the paintforglass website. Also, about.com has a whole section on glass painting techiques and materials required.

etching with cut outs is a good idea...otherwise don`t waste money on `glass paint` ...clean with methyl then paint with gloss...
