A nation is judged by what it has done. Those soldiers gave thier lives to protect those that could not. The reason that you can sit here and ask anything you want is the reason they went to war. So everytime something stupid leaves your mouth and all you have to do is decide if you want to apologize, thank them they are reasosn you can decide to talk stupid.

Because they died fighting for their country and it is a situation of sacrifice so that we may live as we live today and not under the rule of for instance Germany, Japan, etc. or maybe not in existence at all as our ancestors may have been killed off.
We remember these long gone soldiers who were young and got killed in War but their efforts helped win the wars and fight off the enemies of our country. We owe them a debt of gratitude even if we don't believe in wars.
A very meaningful thought is that these young ones who died "......shall not grow old as we that are left grow old...age shall not weary them........at the going down of the sun We Shall Remember Them" It is all very sad. In the First World War so many healthy wonderful young men did not come home - killed in trench warfare etc. and in the fields of Flanders France the red poppies were growing and it was a reminder of all the blood being shed there and that is why we might wear poppies to remember them.

They gave their lives so we can be alive today!!!!! they gave up everything to go fight, whether they were forced to or not they still went. I think its stupid to even ask this question because the answers obvious: Their HEROES! They gave their lives so you could ask stupid questions like this. Ive lost family memebers to wars also, including the one in Iraq, so if you dont think that the people who are dying so YOU can be free is not worth remembering i dont even wanna think about what kind of man you really are

Those fallen soldiers bought and paid for something with their deaths. They paid for your freedom. One of those freedoms is the right to be stupid.
I only wish so many in America wouldn't exercise that right as often as they do.
