Here's a great link for you: http://www.lisashea.com/genealogy/waller/indian/movies/ (not all the movies mentioned portrayed Native Americans as savages but many did). Also the original 1920 version of Last of the Mohicans definitely portrayed and even referred to Native Americans as savages.

The movie True Women (Angelina Jolie, Dana Delaney, Annabeth Gish) portrays both sides.. but also gives part of the reason the "bad" ones where attacking..

In the "northern South" .. Georgia Lawshe witnesses the brutal treatment given to the peaceful tribes, and the onset of the trail of tears, while in Texas Euphemia and Sarah are first running from Santa Anna's campaign, and then battling to keep themselves from being killed by the tribes there.. they do have several friends who are murdered and or kidnapped in vicious attacks by war parties led by a N.A. named Tarantula..

Really interesting movie.
