I just want some advice on this topic. Like what if i send my SAT scores to a college, but then I don't apply to there college. Or what if I send my SAT scores before i send my application in? Is this impeding the application process?

Ugh, just had this problem. Seems like the application process never ends.

Okay, so say you send your SAT scores to a college, but then don't apply there. No big deal, nothing happens. If you did pay college board $9.50 to send your SAT scores to the school, your money will not be refunded.

Okay now here's the issue with sending in your SAT scores before the application. When a school receives your application, they make a folder with your name. They then store ALL information they need in this folder (teacher recommendations, transcripts...). If a school gets your SAT scores before your application, they will throw it into a pile, where they are liable to lose it (not always, but it will happen). To play it safe, get your application in first.

Also, don't bother with rush delivery on college board. Most colleges get updates on sent SAT scores weekly.

And whatever you do, make sure you send the SAT scores before or on the deadline. The application, SAT scores, and transcript NEED to be dated before or on the deadline in order to be considered.

Sorry I talked way too much. Hope this helped a little. Good luck!!!

Yes -- in fact it is common to do so. You don't send them -- ETS does. It is not a problem to send your scores to a school that you don't apply to -- except for the fact that there is a cost to sending them.
