I am working a spanish assignment. I need to answer questions using direct object pronouns. The questions were:
1. Quién está pintando la casa? (mi abuelo)
2. Quién quiere llevar las pantuflas? (Marta)
The answers i've come up with are "Mi abuelo está la pintando" and "Marta quiere llevarlas". Are these correct?

The first is wrong but the second is correct
The correct answer to this is
Quién está pintando la casa?
Mi abuelo la está pintando.

Mi abuelo la está pintando (the la comes before the entire verb, not just the pintando part).
You could also say "Mi abuelo está pintándola", as long as you remember to put an accent on the first "a".
The second one looks fine.

I'm sorry I couldnt put the accent mark on "esta", my keyboard is a mess :)
well, if it's direct object, then you better go with "Marta quiere llevar las pantuflas", in that way the sentence does have the direct object.

1. What is a direct object? It is the /casa/

2. What are the direct object pronouns? they are lo, la, or los, las. Here we need a /la/ added to the verbal "pintando"
3. Ergo (Latin for therefore for those of you in Rio Linda),
Mi abuelo esta (plus accent) pintandola (accent on the first /a/)

You have them right, just the la is suppose to be in front of está not pintando. But either way, you got them right. Good job! xD

So question one is asking who is painting the house. Mi abuelo esta pintando la casa.
2. who will take the pantuflas...
Marta quiere llevar las pantuflas.
At least that's what i would say.
