A heating pad is a square shaped pad like thing that you plug into an eletrical outlet. The pad is connected to a cord with three different temperature settings: High, Medium, and Low. The pad itself is usually covered with a cloth to prevent the heat from burning your skin. They are used for pain management such as back, stomach, neck. They feel great and they create just the amount of heat that you need, when you need it. You can find them at most stores, such as WalMart. I hope that this helped you out. Have a good day.

A heating pad is a special device (usually run with electricity but you can find some that aren't) that is used to put heat to an area of the body that hurts. One area that a heating pad can be used for is in the shoulder or neck area such as if a muscle gets pulled.
