The general public has a short memory. And an even shorter capacity to care. It's ancient history in terms of how we think. Besides (and I'm no Clinton fan), in the grand scheme of things, was it really that big a deal?

I think he was a great president and it doesn't matter to me what he did in his free time. This country had an awesome economy while he was in office and we were actually in the green...as opposed to Bush's which we'll never be out of debt from again. I think Bush should've been impeached for his actions of starting a war without congressional permission and for fraudulently accusing things which he couldn't prove. It's also skeptical that his father had the same issues with Iraq and so he felt that he needed to finish his father's war. I think it's unacceptable. It's another Vietnam. It'll never end because you can't make people have beliefs that they don't want to. I don't think its fair that children are having to lose their parents because of this.

Bill Clinton's wife must've forgiven him because they are still married. Bill was also way better at diplomacy and public speaking than Bush ever was or will be. He had an outstanding relationship with other countries and was able to accomplish many things in his presidency. His ONLY downfall was that he got caught with his pants down. And I think Monica had a lot to do with that because she wanted attention. She should have gotten in just as much trouble. It's a total double standard. She received a lot of fame for "outing" their happenings.

It's not MY business he had an affair, it's between him and Hillary. What offended me was the fact that he couldn't just say, "This is none of your business and I won't answer these questions." However, I haven't invited him to any conferences, so I'm not sure if I've forgiven him yet. Maybe when he apologizes to me and asks for my forgiveness. I'm just not sure...

Because it was really never that important. Remember, he had affairs exposed durring the primaries, and it didn't stop him from being nominated or winning two terms, did it?

That, in stark contrast to Gary Hart, who was destroyed by an affair exposed durring the primaries.

It could be that America has become 'more sophisticated' or 'less moral' over the years. It could also just be that the media loved Clinton and didn't care for Hart.

His affair isn't ours to forgive.

Many presidents have had extra-marital affairs - he's just the only one dogged into hearings over it. (And it hasn't anything to do with the times - from rumors of George Washington to the indiscretions of Grover Cleveland and up to Kennedy and the current day.)

Americans haven't forgotten about it any more than they've forgotten GW's drunk driving scandal (lie and cover-up).

Because his affair was an issue between he and his wife. it was never something for the American public to get mad about or involved in.

Lots of men in power have extra-marital affairs. Get off your moral high horse.

People cheat on their spouses all the time. It is wrong but why should people react any different then they would if it were anyone else. His decisions as a President is all I cared about, Not what he did in his private life. I think it is time to put Bill Clinton's sex life to "bed".

Let me begin with saying I am no fan of the Clintons. The "affair" (or affairs) was never the issue, it was the perjury. His affair is his and Hillary's business. As for forgiving him for the perjury, he was punished (disbarred, meaning he is no longer a lawyer), so he has done his time and that's the end of that. As for whether this affects whether you vote for Hillary based on how you fell about her, that is valid, and you can use your vote as you please (I personally don't like either of them because of their policies).

People have forgiven him because having an affair with another woman is not scandalous in Washington. No one cares. Having an affair with another man would have ruined him.

After that, he grew to grow to be a offender.
