a study I heard of some time ago found that studying while listening to baroque music actually helps the learning process. I will give you a link to that.
One thing as well that I have recommended to many students who thanked me for it was to get a bottle of DMAE from a health food store - costs in the area of 5 for a bottle - and take that. the DMAE has been shown over some 25 years to improve concentration and memory and is all natural with no side effects at all. You don't feel any different since it has no taste and the only way you will see a difference will be how fast you are able to learn something and how long you remember it. Good luck with the homework.

I listen to a range of music but it all really depends on the music and how hard the homework is to do. If it is something that you find is hard to keep focus on I would recommend classic music, maybe some relaxing music with no lyrics. If it is something that requires a bit of thinking with no distractions it might be better to play music that you like to keep you in a good mood. Also a little tip that is fascinating. If you are studying for a test, spray perfume on you then before the test spray it in the same place. Since your memory is based on smell, you will more likely be able to remember what you learned the night you sprayed perfume because your mind will be open to it.

OK - I won't win any contests for this one because several others have given the same opinion. Put some classical instrumental music on low and let it be your background noise. Do not use opera or you will try to make out the words and that will distract you. This technique got me through college with a 97.6% average. Good luck.

Some scientific studies claim that classical music boosts brain function, but they are often discussing what to play for babies, so I would suggest whatever kind of music you like, provided you are still able to concentrate.

I usually listen to music that either has no words or that I don't know the words to. That way, I don't sing along in my head and get distracted. Classical works, so does instrumental jazz.

Classical music helps information 'stick' better. I actually read some high stats of it in my college survival course.
