That's complete and total nonsense! Greenwich mean time, used by the space agencies is a human invention. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, months are nothing to do with the universe or the passage of time. It's our own way of dividing one moment from the next. If you halted the rotation of the earth (halting the motion of the sun around the galaxy would achieve little) for any length of time it wouldn't effect GMT now or then. Time is not linked to the motion of the earth and even if it did stop - time would flow on regardless. Also, if time had stopped, no computer model could know that. We also use a different and totally recalculated calendar to the Hebrews. The earth does not make accurate 24 hour rotations or make accurate 365 day orbits. It's in fact a lousy clock as it keeps getting slower. The energy in the current orbit is slowly running down and the earth's rotation grows slower as the moon's orbit grows further away. Anyway, read this extract I picked up about this "lost day" story: "One problem is that apart from Harold Hill, there is no known source for the NASA story. For many years, whenever anyone wrote to him about it, he sent a form letter which said he had misplaced the source of the information, but would send everybody a copy when he found it. The source never materialized. In his subsequent book, Hill dismissed all skepticism about the story and said that no substantiation was needed. His attitude was that if people believed it and it drew them to spiritual things, it was justified. Another problem is that NASA has denied that Harold Hill was ever one of its consultants. James S. Lacy, from the Office of Public Relations for NASA, wrote in a letter to a journalist that the only trace they could find of a Harold Hill having any connection with NASA was a person who was involved in contracting for the operations and maintenance of some diesel engine operations. Further, according to a letter I have from the NASA Public Affairs office in Washington, 'There is no truth to the recurring story that NASA uncovered a lost day in the movement of the Earth.'" I think that just about wraps up this tall tale. It was fiction!

I think she's grand. My only hope is that she's not exploited by adults around her and that it's what she truly wants to do. Carrying on a legacy would be a very heavy burden for a child to bear.
