Back ground info on Ice
Ice is water frozen in the solid state.
Ice is abundent on Earths surface
Earth went through what is called an ice age.
an ice age is a time of wide spread glaciation.
Ice is found all over the world every where.
Humans used and still use ice for entertainment (Ice skating)
In history ice was used as a status symbol,
before refrigerators we used big blocks of ice to keep things cool (the bigger block of ice ment that you spent alot of money to buy it )

Materials
Water
Food Dye
Candy Molds
Freezer
Timer

Hypothesis
The Christmas Tree variable will take the longest to melt because it is thicker then the rest, affecting the surface area The thinest variable orthe eight point triangle will melt fastest

Procedures
1) Measure out a half teaspoon of water
2) Pore water into the candy molds
3) Put in the refridgarator to freeze
4) After frozen put ice out to melt at room temperature
5) Set timer (keep under strict supervision)

Variables
1) Christmas Tree
2) Angle
3) 5 point star
4) Trumpit angle
5) 8 point star
6) Large snow flake
7) Snow man
8) Raindeer
9) Small snow flake

Observations
As the project started the ice melted almost immeditly, I think if I were to use a different material to put the ice out on it would have taken longer (I used aluminum). It was true that the thiner and longer the ice was the faster it melted.
Conclusions
My hypothesis was correct,
the christmas tree variable did melt faster. also in second was the snow flake I checked out the molds and the snow flake mold was just about as deep as the tree mold.
