its one of those with the mercury switch, but when I look at the temp it say that it warm and I know its cold and have to manuel turn it on myself, is there away to fix this so it'll come on by itself and I don't want to waste money with it on just be comfortable. I have set it to 68 but it won't come on and so time have to rise the switch for it to come on

relevel the stat. Mercury are very sensitive to being level or just set it higher to where you are warm.

If you live in an apartment call the landlord and tell him to get it fixed ASAP or you will and send him the bill to have it fixed.. No heat is a criminal offense if you call your local housing authority and he knows it...

the thermostat is probley off a few deg, set it at 70 see if that works for you,
