What number should I put though? I was going to use #3 (that's his fav number) but I realized that number was retired for Babe Ruth. Is it cool to use a retired number if you are going to personalize it?

The other thing i was thinking was use his birth yr like "81."

Any one got any better suggestions on how I should choose a number to put on there ????

Birth year or birthdate might work. #1 is always popular on jerseys as well.

it depends, if he's a serious fan? if he is, he probably would prefer a jersey with no name. retired jerseys are custom jobs and will cost about $225. if it's a current player number, it'll be less than half of that. for retired numbers, the most popular is probably mickey mantle's number 7. or, if he's more of a quiet, modest guy, lou gehrig's number 4.
if it's a current player, then probably the greatest closer ever is mariano rivera, #42. or, derek jeter, who was voted today as new york's most popular athlete, ever #2.

#3, I have not seen alot of jerseys with retired numbers on it. Plus thats sweet to have your name on the back of the "babes" jersey.

Get him one without a number, which shows he likes the team, if he likes a certain player then get that one, but if its personalyzed go with his fav. number

No Yankees uniform has ever had a name on the back. Dick's is selling something that looks mildly like a Yankees uniform, but isn't.

Find who his favorite player is. Retired numbers are okay to use.

I would ask him questions and then ask what is your fav. number. It could work... what is he favortie baseball player and see what that number is to!

I hope i helped u out!
