The first child we had the doctor told us he couldn't tell what it was. The second and third we found out at the ultrasound. The last was our twins and we did the DNA test. We knew they were boys before we knew they were twins. We are trying again and this time I wonder if we should just wait till we have the baby. We have all boys and are trying for a girl. What do you all think?

It's about the only surprise you get from the entire experience after finding out that your pregnant. Wait! It won't change the outcome either way. Good luck!

I think you should wait! There are so few mysteries left in life that you should at least keep what you can a mystery. Since you have all boys, wouldn't the surprise of a girl be worth it?!

A mother at my daughters school is pregnant and has already got twin boys. She desperately wanted a girl and found it is was a boy. She didn't realise how upset she would get (cried for 3 days) and wished she would've waited till the birth.

Ultimately you do as you want but I think waiting is such a lovely thing to do. I kind of regret finding out with my second because the 'its a boy' would've been so wonderful to hear after all that hard work. ( i already had a girl). I am now pregnant with my third and unless its twins I won't be finding out because I have one of each. I really don't care to know this time.

best of luck and congrats!

I knew with the first two , but not the last. The only thing that i can say bad about not knowing is that it's hard to prepare for the child. You don't know if you should by little boy clothes or little girl clothes. Other than that it's not a big deal , plus when people ask you can tell then you don't know.

These days its mostly an issue of practicality to find out ahead of time...being prepared with clothes, the nursery, and all that. In your case, I think I would definately find out early...if you get another boy it could be quite a let down, and it would be better to deal with that and accept that BEFORE the baby is born, instead of having yet another thing to be emotional about when the baby is born. And if it is a girl...even more time for you to buy cute girly things and daydream about your special mother daughter time.

I love to plan for things so I couldn't wait to find out what I'm having. We had 3 ultrasounds till she decided to show us the goods. :) If you are a planner than there is no point in waiting. GL :)

I think it boiles down to whether or not you can afford all new furniture, clothes, and other stuff to accommodate a little girl....I dint think you can have a baby shower after the baby is born....I mean I guess you can, but I dont think that is the norm ....I think it would be exciting to not know until the baby is born .. but when I had my daughter I couldn't afford to....

Well you already had to wait for one, how was that? If it didn't completely drive you crazy then I say wait, there are not many surprises left in life. Me, I cannot wait, I would want to know. But thats just me. If you can stand it, I think its fun to wait.

I think it's your choice if you want to know than find out if you want to be surprised than don't, I personally would rather know so I could start shopping and be prepared for baby.

I think I'd rather know. There's enough suprises involved with meeting your baby for the first time.........and watching them grow up :D.............it's easier to prepare their clothing & room decor (and think of baby names) if you know their sex.
As an aside.......It seems that only super strong women (emotionally and physically) tend to have all boys.
