Are there any (in the first world) that boot them out?

I can see it in somewhere like Saudi Arabia. Mind you, in Saudi Arabia women aren't allowed to go to the same school as boys anyway... if you're not married and pregnant, they'll stone you for adultery.

In North America and Europe, it's pretty much the law that a child has to go to school until 16. I can see some fundamentalist religious schools booting the girl out, but public schools probably are not allowed to do that.

Although some schools will attempt to have a girl find an alternative school, there is no ruling that the girl cannot attend her normal high school, or at least in the USA. I am not sure where you are that the schools will not allow this, but I would look into your schools regulations.

Not all high school in America do, but I've heard of a lot that do.

however, in Canada the only way you're sent off is if you are in a private school.

Are you pregnant and don't want to drop out?

There's also home schooling that you can get through high schools.

Aside from theocracies, in most countries it's up to individual school policy, although most would forbid it under the notion that somehow it would mean that the school and the community "approved" of her being pregnant and therefore every other girl in school would immediately go get pregnant. And no I'm not joking.

They do in the USA. The try & talk you into going to Alternative schooling but, they can't force you to go.

My friend, Katie, just had her baby 3 days ago. She's only 15 & was asked to go to Alternative schooling.
