It would have been better if you had called a while ago to reschedule. Yes, the person will probably be a little ticked off that you waited until the last minute. It gives the impression that you are not considerate of his or her time.

The interview is a first impression,,, the employer doesn't know you,He is hiring someone to do a job because he needs some one to fill a space in his place of business , he needs to know if you are going to be on time every time at the time he needs you.also putting in the hours he needs you to spend to do your job.Simple as That. First impression [ IS VERY IMPORTANT ] If you get the job whatever it is and your on time and do whats asked of you and your being productive,You should be OK.In the work place depending what you are doing,Nothing is a shure deal, Be on time no matter what your doing

I agree with Rob, but rescheduling means you're thoughtful, not just blowing them off. Rescheduling the day before, however, isn't promising.
I quit my job for school, and everyone else currently working is slipping in their classes.

Call the company and explain you have an exam. Don't say "I forgot about", just tell them you need to reschedule.

You could reschedule but you probably won't get the job. Go and take your exam.

If you have to take an exam that day then you should expain to him what your doing and why you can't come. He might even be impressed that your still in school and taking your exam. It might even put a good first impressin on him. and you might have a better chance of getting the job.

The best thing you can do is be honest. I am a leader and if an applicant calls me and is straight up and honest with me. I will gladly re-schedule.
If this manager won't, given this valid reason; ask yourself. Do you want to work for someone like this?

I think if you explain the situation and give them alternate days/times they'll understand. If they're interviewing someone in school they have to take that kind of stuff into consideration.
Good luck!

You will have to hope for the best. If you are good at apologizing, you may endear yourself to the secretary, but probably not to the boss who will make the final call on you.
So sorry. Lesson: check your date book before saying YES to interviews. . .

Sometimes they do, but you need to explain the situation, school comes first. If they are willing to work with you, then they'll understand. Good Luck!
