Are the Black Hills really hills?

actually they are mountains. mt. rushmore, where all the pres. faces are and cheif crazy horse, is in the black hills. they are so named because of the many evergreens on the hills that appear to be black when seen at a distance. one of the most beautiful states in the U. S. is south dakota where the black hills are located. btw, i'm from maine.
