Well I think we should send that beautiful Russian SOB a medal!! That took a lot of guts to do that under the Soviet Union. I mean he did potentially put the USSR at risk, but by using his brain and thinking logically he was able to see what was really happening. I think that is a good and even uplifting story. It's to bad that things like this happen and we as the public are either never told or told 30 years after the fact. I am pleased that it did come out and that Lt. Col. Petrov used his head, by doing so he did save the lives of millions of people. There is little doubt in my mind that during that time the USSR would have hesitated to launch it's arsenal of nuclear weapons in the face of a probable attack. Though looking back now we can see that the chances of nuclear war was not really ever that great except during Kennedy's administration and now we see it could have happened here. Hell the guy should get the Noble Pease Prize!! =)

thats messed up but I wasnt born yet. I guess If it would have happened I would not know life. Thats something to think about.
