It's not... no Conservative that I know advocates anything like Globalism.... In fact they are actively fighting the coming North American Union (a precursor to full Globalism, as is the European Union).... However, free trade isn't in itself globalism. With Globalism there wouldn't be a necessity for free trade, it would be like trading among different cities in the same state. The Law of the Sea Treaty is another attack on our Sovereignty and a step towards Globalism.

yeah I've been wondering the same thing...somewhere along the line the Republicans lost their values , maybe dropping them in a storm drain or something. but so did the democrats. the leanings of the far left are closer to communism than ever before, and the moderate left is brushing the edge of socialism. I think its time for the rise of 2 new parties... parties who's values reflect those of their respective constituencies.
perhaps they would be more apt to tell us what they really intend, and why...

Globalism and free trade are closely intertwined. You could see globalism and an unintended consequence of free trade. Free trade is more libertarian than conservative, but many conservatives are enamored of it.

And why is that non-conservative. Will this promote competition? Will this create an environment where you and I can be successful on our own without government intrusion? Is this the type of atmosphere where my success is limited only by my own determination? Being conservative Republican, liberal or Democrat has little to do with the opening or closing of boarders.
If so... conservative it may be.

Yeah. I'm having difficulty with this one myself. It happened after 9/11. All of a sudden the Republican Party is doing exactly what the Democrats do with foreign policy, except the Repubs have so very little experience with it that they come off looking really stupid. I don't know what to think now because the only one that on board with the traditional foreign policy of Republicans is Ron Paul.
You're not alone in thinking this is weird.

Globalism does not mean open borders, business can be conducted without illegal activity like crossing the border without the legal documents.

Globalism is not conservative. It is neo-conservative; which actually has nothing to do with conservatism.
