i have a problem on my hw that says (x + 3) = 7. i know that the answer is four, but there is supposed to be two different answers for each problem and i need to write them both. any ideas??

the real problem was the square root of (x +3) squared = 7, but i figured the squared and square root cancled right?

u can't have a differnet anwser, the only anwser is 4, unless its the |X+3|=7 then it will be 4 or 10

There is only one answer for this equation. It's quadratics that have got two.

And you're right. It is 4

Their is only one answer and that is 4. You are thinking about absolute value.
